Self-priming pump is a self-priming centrifugal pump, which has the advantages of compact structure, easy operation, smooth operation, easy maintenance, high efficiency, long service life and strong self-priming ability. But how to improve the performance of self-priming pumps?

Increase the maximum circular velocity of impeller outlet and the width of impeller blade outlet, and the maximum circumferential velocity of the impeller outlet can be realized by increasing the impeller speed directly. But it can ensure that increasing the maximum circumferential velocity of the impeller outlet and the width of the impeller blade outlet will change the flow.

The relationship between water storage capacity and self-priming performance: when the water storage capacity is increasing, the height of the self-priming of the pump will also increase. However, when the water output is too large, it will slow down the process of gas discharge, that is, it will increase the self-priming time. Therefore, when the requirements of the height of self-priming are higher but the time are not too strict, the water storage capacity of the pump can be increased, that is, the volume of the liquid storage chamber can be increased. But when the self-priming time requirements are more strict, the size of the liquid storage chamber should be reasonably determined.

The relationship between the return orifice area and the self-priming time and height : within the critical return orifice area , when the return orifice area is increased, the self-priming time will be decreased, and the height of  self-priming will be decreased accordingly. Therefore, when the requirement of self-priming time are strict and the height are not , the return orifice area can be appropriately increased, and on the contrary, it should be appropriately reduced the return orifice area.

Setting gas-liquid separation acceleration device can accelerate the gas-liquid separation, that is, it can shorten the self-priming time, the simplest gas-liquid separation acceleration device is to add baffle in the gas-liquid separation chamber. The simplest gas-liquid separation acceleration device is to add a baffle in the gas-liquid separation chamber, which has almost no effect on the self-priming height. Therefore, as long as the structure allows, should be set in the gas-liquid separation chamber baffle to accelerate the gas-liquid separation, shorten the self-priming time.
