How To Prevent The Magnetic Pump From Air Inhalation?

If magnetic pump contains air inside the pump, it will cause damage and serious consequences, it could even turn into a security incident. The worse situation can cause the liquid leakage.
● To ensure that no air is drawn into the pump when the water level drops, the installed location of the magnetic pump should be closed to the water surface as soon as possible.
● When installing water suction pipes, the water inlet pipe should be installed horizontally or tilted downwards in the water direction. The water inlet pipe should not be higher than the water inlet of the pump. Otherwise, the air in the pipe cannot be discharged.
● The bottom valve should have sufficient flooding degree, if the flooding is too shallow, it is easy to form a vortex, resulting in air entering to produce cavitation and damage to the impeller and pump housing. If it is found that the water level drops relatively quickly when the pump is working, it is recommended to put several boards on the water surface, so as to reduce the formation of swirls and prevent air from entering the pump body. It is recommended that the submerged depth should be equal to 1.5~2 times the outer diameter of the bottom valve, and at least 30CM.
● The vacuum degree in the suction port has a range, if the vacuum degree is too high, it is easy to cause vaporization in the pump, therefore, it will affect pump operation.
● It is recommended to add enough water when the pump starting , it can help to discharge the air from the self-priming magnetic pump. In order to discharge the air which accumulate inside, it is recommended that the bleed plug on the pump cover should be opened regularly.
How to discharge air for magnetic pump?
● Set a bleeder valve on the outlet
● Before operating the chemical magnetic pump , fill with enough water in the pump.
● Coil the magnetic pump before starting
● When running the pump for the first time after a long period of shutdown or pump service, remove the fan cover of the motor and manually turn it to check that the magnetic pump can rotate flexibly, and install the fan cover after confirming that there is no problem.
● Whether the magnetic pump has cavitation phenomenon:
Open the outlet valve, when the flow reach a certain point, there are noise and vibration, then keep on open the valve, if the flow don’t increase, it means that there have cavitation phenomenon. When the cavitation occurs, please vent the air.
Note: Magnetic pump can’t be operated under the cavitation condition, continued operation in this condition will result in premature bearing wear.
